3, Ireland’s largest high speed network, has today announced details of how sports fans won’t miss a minute of the other sporting action at this week’s 3 Irish Open at the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club. In what is one of the biggest weeks in Irish sport, giant screens will be located throughout the 3 Irish Open Tented Village showing all the big Irish sports activity on Saturday.
With Kerry due to play Down in the All-Ireland Championship on Saturday afternoon and a big week of racing in Galway, sports fans can relax in the Heineken Sports Bar and the 3 Irish Open Clubhouse and ensure they don’t miss a second of the action.
Aside from the additional sports coverage there will be something to cater for all ages and tastes at the event over the Bank holiday weekend. For the children there will be the 3 Irish Kids Zone to keep all those junior golf fans entertained. It will feature giant slides, zorbing, a bouncing castle, a climbing wall and for those who dare, an extreme trampoline. The 3 Irish Open Kids Zone will be €2 for a children’s day pass with €1 of that going to the 3 Irish Open chosen charity, Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Music lovers will be well catered for as well, with the Live @ The 3 Irish Open stage set for musical performances at1pm,3:30pmand6pmevery day. Those who like their cutting edge technology can dip into the 3Store in the Tented Village or have a browse around the Samsung Interactive Zone to have a look at all the new gadgets on show.
If you are hungry, there will be no lack of options for the foodies out there. Along with the 3 Clubhouse that will be serving food all day, there will be the 3 Irish Open food court which will have an international feel. There will be a tapas and wine bar, along with gourmet sausage and burger bars as well as a noodle bar. A genuine hog-roast will also form part of the3 Irish Open Food Court, while Bewley’s will have a Sit and Sip Café.
