3, Ireland’s largest high speed network, has today announced Victor Dubuisson as one of their sponsor invites for this week’s 3 Irish Open at the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club.
Dubuisson is one of the most exciting talents in world golf and one of the finest golfers to come out of France in many years. The 20-year-old, who hails from Cannes, last year won the European Amateur Championship and finished 2009 as the World’s number one amateur player. He has played in three Challenge Tour tournaments on invites and he has finished in the Top 20 on each occasion, including a 3rd place finish at the Allianz EurOpen de Lyon
John McHenry, 3’s golf consultant and former tour professional, is excited by Dubuisson’s entry into the event. “Victor is a precocious talent in world golf and a very exciting player to have in Killarney. He is sure to make a positive impact on the 3 Irish Open and certainly has the ability to be in contention on Sunday!”
The young Frenchman is also joined on the sponsors invite card by local amateur Daniel Sugrue, who is a member of the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club. Sugrue is a former member of the Irish and Great Britain Youths Team and was a member of the Challenge Tour from 2003 to 2009, while he also played at the Irish Open in Baltray in 2004.
