Three Ireland have appointed Dublin based agency Boys & Girls as its new creative force.
Three, Ireland’s largest high speed network today confirmed that they have appointed Dublin based agency Boys and Girls as its new creative agency for the next three years following a competitive four-way pitch. Boys and Girls will take the reins from McCann Erickson who had been working with Three since 2010.
Boys and Girls were chosen from an invited shortlist which included previous incumbents McCann, Irish International Proximity and Chemistry. Formed in August 2009, Boys and Girls are still relatively new to the industry. Despite this however, its founders have over 85 years of experience between them.
Commenting on the decision to appoint Boys and Girls, Elaine Carey, Chief Commercial Officer at Three said: “Boys and Girls delivered an impressive pitch with a fresh approach. There were many elements which excited us throughout and I’m looking forward to kick-starting what will hopefully be a fantastic working relationship.”
Pat Stephenson, Managing Partner at Boys and Girls said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to become the agency partner for Three. They’re a market leading company in terms of product and service offering, with the best sports sponsorship in the country and we’re really looking forward to working with them to develop market leading communications that can build on their success to date”.
Three, who also released a tender to identify the most suitable media buying agency for the business, decided to retain Mindshare. Three and Mindshare have been working together since launch.
As well as being Ireland’s fastest growing mobile network, Three are also proud supporters of the Irish National Football team, with some of the team and manager Giovanni Trapattoni actually appearing in advertisements for the company in 2012.
