Dublin, Monday 16th April 2012: According to a recent poll carried out by Three, proud sponsors of the Irish National football team and the Football Association of Ireland, Irish goalkeeping legend Shay Given is the most likely of this year’s Republic of Ireland players to make the biggest impact in Euro 2012.
The safe pair of hands, who boasts 121 caps for his country, leads the Three poll with 41% of the overall votes. The second player most likely to leave his mark on this year’s tournament according to Three football fans is injury stricken Richard Dunne on 24%.

Of all the people who voted, just 10% said super striker Robbie Keane would make the biggest impact, while 16% said 22-year-old winger James McClean, and less than 4% opted for Paul McShane and Damien Duff.
Sharon McHugh, Communications Manager at Three, said: “With less than eight weeks to go until the Euro’s kick off our fans are getting very excited. A lot of them are hoping Shay will save the day, but as previous years have proven; the Euro’s is a tournament where any player can break through and make a big impact.
