The 3 Silver Surfer Awards with Age Action aims to acknowledge inspirational people who prove that it is never too late to learn something new. From ordering your shopping online to chatting with relatives all over the world, elderly people can use the latest technology to improve their day-to-day lives. Thanks to the National Broadband Scheme provided by 3, elderly people in rural areas now have greater access to high-speed, quality broadband in their own homes that would never have been possible before.
3’s National Broadband Scheme Director, Damien Gallagher said “We are looking for the most innovative and creative uses of technology by older people to enter the 3 Silver Surfer Awards. As 3 continues to roll out the largest high-speed network in Ireland we regularly encounter the wide-ranging benefits that the internet brings to people’s lives, particularly to older people and those in remote parts of the country.” commented
