Waterford warrior John Mullane is the star attraction in a new viral video created by Three, Ireland’s largest high speed network and proud supporters of Waterford GAA. The video, which is set in an urban setting at Waterford railway station, has already racked up more than 21,000 views on YouTube and has even caught the attention of Irish diaspora in Australia and the Middle East.

The video shows proud county-man Mullane practicing his skills ahead of this Sunday’s Munster final against Tipperary. He has three chances to smash some Guinness bottles which have been lined up at a distance. The 45 second clip plays out to Jay-Z’s ‘Run This Town’ featuring Rihanna and ends with an eerie almost goading sliotar bouncing on John Mullane’s hurley.

Of the sixty-three countries who have so far viewed the video, Ireland, the UK and United States emerged on top with Australia following closely behind. Other countries showing an interest in Mullane’s striking skills included Qatar, Hong Kong and New Zealand.

Commenting on the video, Sharon McHugh, Communications Manager at Three said: “John is a passionate player and great character and the video displays just how much heart he has going into this weekend’s Munster final. We have received a lot of interest from foreign media and GAA clubs proving that interest in the sport is very much alive and kicking with the Irish abroad.”
